Delhi Daredevils vs Kings XI Punjab is the 7th match of IPL 9 to be played on 15th May at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground, Delhi.
Both the teams are playing in IPL since the very first season in 2008 but none of them have ever won the title. Though both the teams started in the first season and were the semifinalist but after that the performance dropped down. DD best performance was in the first two seasons and in 2012 when they ended as semifinalist otherwise the team played poorly in rest of the seasons. Delhi franchise took a bold step in 2014 and reconstructed the whole new team but this decision also not paid them and the result was same. For IPL 9, Zaheer Khan will lead the team where as Rahul Dravid will play the role of mentor. Pawan Negi has been brought by DD at Rs 8.5 crores in IPL 2016 auction which makes him the second costliest player of this season.
Kings XI Punjab best season was in 2014 when the team ended as runner-up. Except 2008 and 2014 season, KXIP has never proceeded further the league stage till now. David Miller has been announced as the new captain for the team while Virender Sehwag will mentor the team.
