In the 2016 auction only 7 players are bought by the team management Jaydev Unadkat, John Hastings, Jason Holder are the top paid player from the Kolkata Night Riders. The team has won the title twice in 2012 and 2014. The starting season was not good for the team but after appointing Gautam Gambhir as captain huge change seen in the performance and became the champions two times.

If we look onto the Delhi Daredevils, from starting season of Indian premier league they struggled. Out of 8 season of the tournament DD only tops the points table twice that is in 2009 and 2012. Last three season are also not good for the team, they didn’t able to qualify to the play-offs. In IPL 9 they have released so many players and only retained 13 players and bought 14 players from the 2016 auction. Pawan Negi, Christopher Morris, Sanju Samson, Carlos Brathwaite are some of the highly paid players from their squad this year.
